Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Rx – Review

I don’t even recall which reformulation of the Missha’s essence it is, but it’s another one. If you liked the old version, stock up on it, or forget about it altogether. New formulas are here, and this is one of them.

I don’t have much information about the essence, but on the box, it’s written that this ‘essential essence in clear liquid form helps make your skin hydrated, clear and translucent. It allows skin looking more refined, firmer and moisturized.’ Also, there’s information about Missha’s unique fermentation and delivery methods for better absorption of the essence. In the Korean version, there’s a word ‘cica’ written between Korean signs, so I assume they make claims about the repairing properties of this product. Rightly so, I believe ferments can help to repair the skin.

Ingredients-wise, there is a lot of good ones. This essence contains 95% of yeast ferment, niacinamide, rice extract, pearl powder ( it has mainly brightening effect). Moreover, there’s sodium PCA, which is excellent for moisturising the skin; glycerine, ceramide NP, cholesterol, and adenosine – I see it quite a lot in skincare lately. I think it’s on the trend nowadays; it supposedly has anti-wrinkle properties, so it would make sense to include it in such a product.

I love a good essence, and this one did not disappoint me. I can see the difference in my skin; it gives a proper FTE glow. I do not imagine it, I stopped using it for a week, and my complexion returned to normal after a couple of days. This essence makes my skin luminous, bright, more hydrated, and overall healthy looking. It helps hyperpigmentation and skin discolouration. On top of the ferments, the essence contains niacinamide and rice extract. It aids the skin in the healing process, I am a picker, and I like to pop a pimple when I can. Everything heals faster when I use this essence. The redness on my cheeks has decreased since I started using this essence. There is still redness (they are dilated/broken blood vessels), but it appears less prominent.

Honestly, if you want to bother with a toner, go for an essence like this, because it brings tremendous benefits. I won’t debate on the science behind ferments in skincare. In short, they act as antioxidants; they boost hydration and help to resort the skin’s barrier. I am sure you’ve heard about yeast masks before. Though, essences are better than yeast masks, in my opinion; they do incredible things for my skin.

Anyone can use this essence. I don’t think it would irritate someone; it has a pretty simple ingredients list. It’s alcohol- & fragrance-free, so nothing to worry about. For sure it won’t serve as a moisturiser on its own, but on a hot summer day, I imagine that it can be your all-in-one product, before applying sunscreen. It contains ferments, niacinamide, and hydrating ingredients – perfect as the only product to use. Just pour a few drops into your palm and splash it on your face. I wouldn’t bother with cotton pads; it’s just easier to pat essence onto your face without one.

This a lovely product and I am sure many of you will like it. It hydrates, brightens, and gives a healthy look to the skin. It’s great for anyone who wants something more from skincare. It is suitable for all skin types.

Ingredients: COSDNA  (here, niacinamide is listed as nicotinamide and ceramide NP as ceramdie 3)

While you’re here, I want to ask all of you a favour. I would love it if you could support my petition to the EU’s Committee on Petitions. I am petitioning for a ban on sunbeds in the EU and changes to sunscreen products labelling regulations.
Unfortunately, you have to register on the EU’s petitions website – I know it’s a dealbreaker for many people, so it’s ok if you don’t want to. Also, you don’t have to be an EU citizen/resident to register. If you have any questions regarding my petition or the registration process, please do not hesitate to ask; you can contact me via email, Instagram, and Weibo.
I really appreciate any help you can provide!

  1. Compared to the older MOIST version this is definitely more irritating on my sensitive skin. I think it’s the high amount of hexanediol in it (second on the ingredients list, compared to 5th last on the MOIST’s).

    1. I am very sorry to hear that. I hope your skin will recover soon! Thank you for sharing your experience. I am sure many people will find this information helpful. Honestly, it can be any ingredient that irritates you. In this formula there’s diethoxyethyl succinate, in the previous one there wasn’t.
