As much as I enjoy using acid toners on a regular basis, I like exfoliating treatments because they bring better results instantly, such as the Omorovicza Copper Peel. I know that it’s not the cheapest, but in my opinion, it’s worth the price tag.
The peel is supposed to help us with the look of enlarged pores, brighten the skin, and the copper gluconate was added to regulate sebum production. Although copper gluconate is an excellent antioxidant, it fights free radicals and bacteria, I am not sure if it controls sebum excretion. There aren’t many exciting ingredients here, besides the ferment in the Hungarian water and squalane; mainly, it is just a lactic acid peel. There is a mix of fragrance and camphor in the paste, a small amount, but if you are sensitive to these ingredients, they might be a problem. As for the concentration of lactic acid, I am not sure about the percentage, and I can’t find the information online anywhere. I can attest that if misused, this peel can lead to burns. Once I applied only the acid under one of my eyes, as I’d been sloppy while spreading the paste, and I left it for about 10 minutes. The product had burnt my skin, it turned red, and a scab developed after a few days. So please do follow the instruction and be careful while using the product. You need to apply both of the components, as the paste has to buffer the acid, so you don’t get hurt. You can live the peel for a longer time than recommended (if you are used to acids), but don’t use the acid component alone on your face.
I like this peel a lot because it contains lactic acid, which is terrific for pigmentation, uneven skin tone, and boosting moisture levels in the skin. Lactic acid is fantastic as it exfoliates the skin and helps with texture as well as wrinkles, without being harsh. Even people with sensitive skin types can use it. You will get all the benefits of lactic acid in this product. After one application of the Copper Peel, my skin is brighter, evened out and feels plump. It gives a beautiful glow, not a shine that you get from over-exfoliation, but like a post-facial glow. Use it at night and follow with a hydrating mask or your regular routine, and the next morning, your skin will be radiant. I reach for this product to lighten hyperpigmentation after blemishes, and whenever I want to brighten my complexion instantly. It’s great to use before events as it will make your skin appear healthier and luminous. I use this peel for a longer time than instructed, I would say 5-10 minutes, but I am used to acids. You shouldn’t feel discomfort while using this product, but you might get a pinching sensation at first. If it’s your first time using it, you can follow the instructions and wash off after 2 minutes.
This product is an excellent at-home peel for revitalising the skin. I would say it’s suitable for most of the skin types, Omorovicza recommend it for ‘dry, oily, combination/normal’. I don’t think it would be the best option for people with particularly sensitive skin or someone not used to acids. It’s not a regular acid toner, but a peel so it might be a bit too much. As for the cost, I am aware that this is not the cheapest; I don’t think any product from the brand is affordable. But you can easily get four sessions out of the duo of tubes (even five if you aren’t heavy-handed). You don’t need heaps of the product per application. Just make sure your face is covered with the paste entirely and apply some of the acid gel on top.
